Read this thread started the old grey matter off.
Ok here's the train of thought, quite a few WTP and Comer's around ,some very cheap, what would the legality be if someone bought up say 5 or 6 cheap engines and selected the best barrel ,piston ,con rod and crank and blueprinted an engine, then sent it off for check and reseal? If the buillder found it to be a high tolerance engine could/would he have the right to "de-tune" it? Are internals and barrels marked in a way to identify the parts with a certain engine?
Another thing, say for instance you know you have a slight blow between the head and barrel and before you send it off for a check you remove the head ,get it on a surface plate and find a slight machining fault, couple of thou adrift in the area of the blow, can you then take it back to true or are all repairs etc like this illegal under MSA reg's?
Well done to Mac by the way,we've seen him a few times.
