I think it is a very poor show that some of the drivers who compete at Hooton and their entourages should be name calling on this forum - for a start it is very childish and secondly their is a judicial process for on track incidents and also if a drivers have problem with the way the Club runs things then you should address it formally to the Club directors .
It is a popular club because the people, including the circuit owners , officials , volunteers , competitiors and spectators are generally very nice but I have a feeling from this forum that people are not continuing to be that friendly anymore and that may spoil things.
This forum is not a kangaroo court and it seems that many people on here are prepared to post without knowing all the facts.
It would be inappropriate for officials to pay any attention to the championship - they are there to judge things on one day and one day only - what has happened before is an irrelevance and people's position in the club championship should have no bearing on the decisions of the day - either for or against a competitor. It would seem to me that some people think as they have competed throughout the year and the grids have grown due to the popularity of the circuit they are entitled to the championship and don't want any racing challenges at all. What should a club do ?......tell anyone new they can't compete in the last 3 meetings of the year in case they may compromise someone else's ability to win a championship? That would be ridiculous wouldn't it ?
I have watched the Junior TKM racing particularly throughout the year and I can see how many of the drivers have improved with their driving and mechanical skills which means they can now challenge for the podium places which they awere no where near at the beginning of the year. There always seems to be an attitude, and perhaps arrogance, in karting that if you are getting beaten then it is because others drive dirty or they might be cheating and no-one ever seems to look to themselves to see that perhaps they are just not good enough. I thought the driving in the senior TKM was actually better than it has been in the past and feel people are too ready to point fingers at someone else (other drivers or officials ) when things go wrong
I thought some of the Cadet and junior blue driving was terrible and reported it appropriately - I had no reason to report anything in the senior TKM so if anything was happening it wasn't happening on my part of the circuit and I have a view of 3 bends and a much better view than most spectators. I know many of the competitors in a variety of the classes at Hooton - but I would like to point out that did not have any vested interest in any of the classes at this meeting.
