Super Unleaded, even from the busiest stations, is going to be far, far older than the unleaded in any other garage. How many people do you know who stick Super in their cars?
The higher octane rating of Super is of no benefit. Super is supposed to give a cleaner burn, but it achieves this by using detergents in the fuel. These detergents can have the affect of cleaning the bore. There is absolutely no performance benefit from using it.
Race fuels are an entriely different kettle of fish. Sunoco provide a wide range of race fuels, with different octane ratings for various types of engines. A low compression engine will run quite happily on 97, 98 or 99. Where race fuels differ is in the formulation and the consistency.
