We have done it for the past two years in juniors. Best thing we ever did. We have done MSA racing also in several junior classes an nothing touches the overall experience.
There are no drop down bumpers, multiple observers to penalise any contact. Any parents or drivers shouting at one another or worse are thrown out, no appeals as its not MSA. Its run by ACR. One engine, one chassis at race meetings, all engines rebuilt by ACR so zero cheating.
Its close racing, televised, as fair as it can get. Prizes at end of the year, e.g. free entry into Ginetta Scholarship and also a world finals in Italy.
Its designed to have fair racing, keep costs down and not have dirty contact driving.
Also no teams. Its Dad and Lad with a help centre area by ACR to help mechanic if you have a problem. There is an ACR awning so that you can have ACR supply a mechanic if you simply are unable or cannot spanner.
Cadets, juniors, seniors and master classes so something for everyone.
It gets knocked alot in the industry as teams, tuners, and chassis engine suppliers cannot make money from the punters in it.
Just watch the latest you tube videos for some of the races.
All commented live on the race day and practice day through downforce radio and Jake sansom. Video interviews and race day action also has jake sansom commentating.
Best thing we did for enjoyable karting.
We are moving up to seniors next year.
