Cripes! thats the problem with our 2016 Synergy chassis! it was developed by a driver the size of an elf, nothing against Thompson, he is obviously very talented, but he is a short driver.

Therefore he needed a ton of castor build into the 2016 chassis at 22.5 Degrees standard, and I'm told he ran a castor kit on top of that, as Duhy also did as I bought his chassis after he retired from Hondas, the year before in 2015 it was 18.5 degrees, same as the Zip eagle, I'm told a P1 or BRK was previously in the region of 12 to 14 degrees castor, hence they do need more castor angle for the 2017 chassis.

So if Synergy are putting even more castor onto the 2017 chassis, then I will be avoiding that with a barge pole!

On our 2016 chassis, only when we started to remove the castor angle, only then did the chassis finally wake-up and start performing......overall my point being, from what I have seen so far, short drivers will struggle on the new harder tyre as they cannot generate the grip that a taller driver can, it worked in their favour last year, but not this year, this was certainly my observation from the first race meeting with the hard tyre.
