We run in IKR. I know bead retainers are an MSA requirement, but they are a right pain when tyre changing, prone to leaks, stripping threads on MAG wheels. Has anyone run without them in senior classes - senior Rotax on Mojo D2's and if have you ever had any problems? I assume you only need them when running really low pressures in really hot weather, i.e. in the UK not very often. I have a few rims where maybe one bead retaining hole has a thread problem. Due to the thickness of the rim, helicoils or timeserts etc. might not work very well / be reliable. I'm tempted to fill the problem hole with chemical metal / Q bond eta, then drill and tap a new hole close by. Or maybe not bother at all and fill all the holes - to avoid going out of balance??
