The is abig difference between PF/Whilton and Shenny. The first two tracks have corporate karting and the MSA club karting is just part of the overall income/expenditure. With Shenny, the club rents the track but is very restricted in the number of days they can operate and have less opportunity to raise income. They either get all the income from entry fees or charge a small amount to people who want to stay overnight Friday and Saturday and/or have hard standing pit bays. If you add it all onto entry fees then people who do not stay at the track could argue that they are subsidising the ones that do. I do not know who has to pay for track maintenance and the three clubs and that alone could be a significant factor. The volunteers that run clubs are not building up savings in swiss banks and probably get little more than expenses and the numerous thanks from club members (little piggies may foy past at this point).
