The rule about the Club controlling the footage only applies where it is used to support a decision by a Judge of Fact (and nothing else).
Clubs and Officials have been known to try and rely on this in other circumstances.
Any form of evidence can be challenged if you try hard enough (witness statements, officials' reports, timing system data, etc) - the rule (Found it now!) is always "on the balance of probability".
So people shouldn't accept the myth that video evidence can't be submitted, just because officials say so. It absolutely can be admitted, along with any other evidence.
It's for the decision maker to decide what weight they attach to any and all evidence they receive.
It might actually speed up the judicial process!
Whether it's appropriate for decisions at Club events taken by CoC and/or Stewards to be appealed further is another debate, of course.
It makes you wonder what would be so important to get a lawyer involved...
