There is a good shop at PFI near Grantham/Newark about an hour from you.You probably need to be a member there to practice but worth giving them a call.
If you plan to do MSA races then he will have to have a CMR helmet. If you look at the Demon Tweeks website they do show a sizing guide but it is best to try them on.
If you are not doing races under the MSA banner then the helmet rules are usually more flexible although I would still go for a CMR helmet.
