I quite agree with the timed quali. some novices even after 5 races are running 2-3 seconds off the front. and some are less than a second off.
with regards to kids and racing times and everything. i think that 8 min heats are fine and 10 or 12 min finals are ok if the kids did not have to be around from 8.30 in morning until 5 or 6 pm in afternoon evening. Its to long a day for them. as well as racing and all the excitemwent they have over the day. also if the circuits stopped selling the sweets and redbull and other energy drinks then that would go a long way aswell but also the parents controlling the kids a bit better. lets hope that clay decide to make some positive changes to race days with regards to cadets. to be honest i am knackered after a long day like that and im just making sure his kart is setup and running him. but i thinks its the emotion that makes me and him tired. my emotion is hoping he does not get hurt and his emotion is the excitement and fun of friends which is natural for an 8 or 9 year old. i think some good comments from all and hope clay have read some of this.
