Red flags are an unfortunate but obviously necessary element of racing. You cannot help but wonder though why there seems to be so many red flags in Cadets at Clay. Yes they are kids and need that extra protection - safety is paramount after all and, as seen this weekend, a cadet suffered some nasty injuries, but wasn't there also an instance a couple of months back of a Dad shouting at his kid to stay in their kart after an off so that he could retake his place after the inevitable red flag? Makes me wonder if a lot of the red flags are avoidable but it's very hard to address - end the race in the event of a second red with the finishing order not rolled back??? Could a club even do this or is this governed by the MSA?

There is a lot contact in the Cadet races although I don't know how many race observers the club have (and you might argue that, in cadets, you cannot have enough!).

Completely agree about the previous comments about the CompSec - it's a thankless task and she did a great job for the drivers.
