Move up.... I am/was in the same situation as you my lad went 11 in April he's a big lad almost 5'5" could of done with losing a couple of kg which he did and more. We spent so much time and money getting from the back of the grid to the front but it was much quicker going the other way. We did the lightweight chassis carbon fibre everything, but i couldn't stop my lad from growing. Winter came all was good got to May, when the grip went down with the hot weather all the weight over the rear axel game over! My lad too as I do enjoy the social side of karting with this mates but what he hated was knowing the best he could expect was mid pack it demoralised him and me too I remember our last race feeling like I'm throwing my money out of the windrow. Now the question you need to ask yourself is would you be happy spending all that money and he be happy knowing the best he could do was mid pack, it will happen if not already.
Stop kidding yourself.
