We don't see so many TAG engines in the north, but I can't say I've felt at any disadvantage when one has been running this year. We were told the newer V-Clutch non-TAG engines were uncompetitive compared with DD, but again, if I'm off the pace I find it really hard to say it's the engine (unless it's my slower one ;) ). V-Clutch non-TAG were 1st and 2nd at Hooton Park last weekend - I know one of them was un-machined and within fiche, and I'm pretty confident the other one would have been.
TKM have good parity of engines in my opinion. Unfortunately it's easy to think if someones quicker than you at the end of the straight it has to be down to the engine. I've found more pace from concentrating on how I enter the corner before that straight than I'd ever get from a tiny bit more power.
