If it was a genuine attempt to warm tyres, they "got away with it" and it worked then why not?

I've led a rolling lap as pole man on wets knowing slicks would be better and that others behind were on them so crawled round at slower than walking pace so they had no chance to get any heat in them.

If it's not breaking the rules it's just race craft is it not?
