I agree this can only be positive from the MSA, at least they are trying to do something, give it a chance. What is disappointing though is there was no response on tyres cost; having to use new tyres every meeting to compete. IKR does well sometimes because they run open tyre choice, so you can run used Vega whites or greens depending on what grip level you need for your formula for about £30 a set. Compared to £135 for a set of new MOJOs. MOJOs are good for at least 3 race days, they just loose a couple of tenths at most tracks after the first race day. So why not run a national database of bar codes. On race entry you declare the bar codes, these can be checked against the database driver against numbers of race day uses, then run a rule where you must use the same tyres for at least 3 race days. Yes you will get people racing on new tyres against those on the 3rd race day, but it should even out over clubby meetings or if you move around. It will also handicap team drivers from time to time and allow the 'have not's' to compete occasionally. The big issue is the MSA won't want to dissuade the tyre suppliers as they would loose two thirds of tyres sales!
