has really been grasped by Manchester and Buxton Kart club members, officials and supporters . This weekends meeting was really the first time the clubs new driver Acadamy was fully up and running. Despite still eagerly awaiting the delivery of their MSA/IAME/MBKC scholarship kart from the MSA,the club went ahead in its efforts to help newcomers and novices to 3S and even provided karts for interssted new comers to try .. This Acadamy initiative has led to 1 new, out this weeekend minimax driver, with 3 NEW families committing to cadet karting already with other visitors going away with all the correct info to make a start in karting with the club in the near future.. Although the Acadamy is initially aimed at cadets, due to the interest being shown by older potential drivers they are hoping later in the season,or sooner ,to accomodate older drivers with an Acadamy try a drive kart.. Awning space for 8 karts was provided, a top driver was on hand to advise and coach the drivers, people were on hand from the membership to help with mechanical /repair issues all day on Saturdays test day as well at todays meeting, loan engines were on hand, also members moving up a class this year have donated their surplus tools, equipment and racegear, and 2 hrs after the end of the racing ,people were still not really interested in leaving with new friendships having been formed amongst the Acadamy lads and dads and mums (no girl drivers yet but very welcome)over the weekend. One new driver to Manchester and Buxton ,a novice, never raced there before won the IAME cadet novice trophy having been with the Acadamy all weekend. Well done MBKC, everyones efforts were greatly appreciated by all who attended todays race meeting, and also by those who used the Acadamy facilities..
