It's sad that many who have posted seem to be against teams. We joined a small but friendly and sucessful team simply because we did not know how to set up a Rotax to be competitive. Also being part of a team means you don't need to worry about cover, power and air. There are also ample bodies around to help out if things go wrong. Of course its also easier for the lad to make friends instead of just being stuck with the old man under your own awning. I don't believe teams are killing karting at club level. Without teams some clubs may not get enough entries to run half the races they do. It's my experience that it's the officious inconsistent nature of some of the petty officials that is responsible for dropping numbers. Be in a team or run yourself. Its personal choice but don't knock those that choose to run in a pack rather than as a maverick. Oh and by the way not all those in teams are loaded and can afford the big RS Motorhomes!
