Yes it does go a bit daft once you want to broadcast "live" TV, but does always really matter that it has to be "live". Is it not more important that is recorded?

Once you dispense with the notion that live is everything, and you can trim out that it has be presented just right for TV broadcast, then the size of the production (people and gear) and the complications shrink massively. As do the costs. Plus you can then tailor the output to what works best for the karting or the client. Not the other way around. And with broadband and online video coming into its own, you supply 90+% of what TV does, directly to the target audience, if you can find the audience (which is where here, facebook and twitter come in very handy) and deliver to any platform, so wherever, whenever (save for live) on any device phone to TV (I watch my vids through iPad and AppleTV on my 50" plasma) as often and for as long as you like.

So if its not "live TV" you can have stuff this good without necessarily "TV" cost. This is where the Internet, social media and smaller sports ought to be best buds.
