Malcolm,
I would really hate for you to feel that the offer of running as an NKF class was turned down - it was more that we were a long way into the "TKM Northern Club Championship" as an idea before the offer was made. I have huge respect for the NKF championship, and always look forward to the annual round at my home club. The atmosphere is always friendly off track, with an incredibly competitive bunch of drivers that show some (most?) of us club drivers how it's done on our own track.
My intention in this has always been to try to re-enliven TKM grids at a few clubs by bringing something new for drivers to aim at. With hindsight promoting a TKM Extreme grid for NKF rounds could have achieved the same thing in a really positive way. However at the time I started the ball rolling back in June this year it was the big grids and competitive racing in the TKM Club Championship running in the Midlands that stood out as a good starting point.
I hope you don't feel snubbed, because it really wasn't like that.
Liam
