Got to be the Hero 3 Black Edition. We bought one as our first camera and its awesome. Wifi compatibility so you can set up the shot using your smart-phone, its smaller than the hero 2 thus weighs less and can but mounted in tighter positions with ease, plus if its on the Nassau panel it suffers less from vibration. As has been said the sound quality of the Hero 3 is far superior to the Hero 2.

I film all my racing with a Hero 3 black mounted to the nassau panel using just the supplied go pro sticky mount. Its been flawless all season (apart from when nummbuts here forgets to turn it on!)

I film in 720p at 24fps, and edit it in sony vegas, render it in .MP4 and the quality doesnt ever suffer.
