Hi Spice. It's not really a case of wanting instant success - more a case of being as efficient as possible when testing and having good usable data which I can refer to retrospectively to help me diagnose issues. I am sure in the next couple of years he will improve significantly as a driver and I don't want to be the one holding him back because I have failed to notice something. Last weekend I could see the time difference on the stopwatch (which my better half was using) when I got back to the pits and I could see the gap but I couldn't see where he was actually slower. I think GPS may provide some much needed clarity in that respect . Today our problem (apart from a broken chain which put us out for most of the day) was jetting which I can sort tomorrow by referring to our data sheets and after a quick chat with our engine builder I know what to do. I want to learn about the kart setup myself so I can provide the best back up for when he does get fast. I think he's learning faster than I am!
