What is not understood by Cadet parents...

Children between 8-13 are all learning and developing at different rates.

One kid at 8 or 9 may be alot quicker simply due to development reasons and it's got nothing to do with kart setup or quality of equipment.

Off course most parents don't realise this so better equipment is bought and the resultant "investment" has to be justified by getting results. Enjoyment just doesn't come into it. Worse still the parents pay for their kid to be run in a professional team and the costs just go balistic.

There are lots of examples where cadet drivers have won everything in a given year and a few years later they may still be good but wins don't come so regular.

Having taken my lad through cadets I can only describe the class as something to be endured rather than enjoyed.

Don't get sucked in to spending big money in cadets and save it for when they all equalise around 14/15 years old. By then most of the big spending cadet parents will have disappeared.
