We have generally enjoyed ourselves at rissy but the attitude and driving standard of some of the visiting drivers was nothing short of disgraceful. In one heat his rear bumper got stoved in on the rolling up lap and in the B final he got fired again on the rolling up lap right in front of the marshall and nothing was done about it. A few other minor skirmishes on the Saturday left him low on confidence and now he's not sure if he wants to continue. If he quits then it suits me fine because while we accept the risks in clean hard racing I felt as though we were way beyond that at the weekend. Compared to some people we got off lightly - at least 2 karts written off (kids fine) requiring more expense on the part of the parents. I trust the officials to do their job correctly but I wonder if the deterrents are effective. I understand clubs pressuring to minimalise penalties so as not to put people off but I can't see the point in continuing to race if the penalties don't fit the crime.
