I think itpro put into words what I thought! and if this hypothetical engine builder then runs his own team, who is going to get the monster engine? hence should it be allowed to seal engines and run your own team? if you buy an engine off X then turn up every week racing against team X you are at a massive disadvantage before the kart comes out of the van, maybe a way round it if the really are so "equal" would be as in Honda clubman where for a set fee you can buy ANY engine?
