1st you state “there were other parents also very un-happy with what the club intended to do with the results” Please note that it is not the club as you state but the MSA officials presiding over the race event that are in full control of the results.
2nd you state “club/timekeepers” Please note that it is not a club timekeeper as you state but a fully licensed MSA appointed timekeeper invited by MBKC to run the meeting under full MSA authority.
3rd you state “maybe clubs need to think about how many classes they are accepting entries for and not to be what seems to basically add up to greed, which causes both the competitors and officials at the event un-necessary grief and stress!!” Please note that MBKC is a licensed MSA club and run on behalf of its members to offer MSA sanctioned racing. The MSA sanction the classes so MBKC as a club accepts entries from MSA licensed drivers, as do all other clubs. Clubs then have to try and fit you all in. Clubs are dammed for leaving grids open, dammed for capping grids, dammed for mixing grids and so on. (Value for money). The Ethos of MBKC is not to dictate to its members what MSA Class they wish to race, but promote karting in general. The Directors and committee members of MBKC are volunteers and do not get paid, nor compensated for expenses or time put in to run the club. Your comment therefore of greed would be most offensive to them. You may be suggesting that the directors and committee are not up to the job?, I would like you to note that the running of your race day (Sunday) is taken out of their hands (The Club “MBKC”) and placed in the hands of the MSA officials, MBKC has very little input except for back office reporting, MBKC provide the circuit, the MSA run the event, you all have to abide by the rules in the Blue Book and so do the officials and the club.
