Banzai - each to their own and I can understand your point of view. Adrian has been very sucessful; he's a genius and I have the utmost respect for him.
I know where you are coming from ref. hard work etc etc. There are many people in this world whom work very hard to support their family - get where they want to go, but many don't get there despite their efforts; are their 'rights to level competition' or even access to karting any less?
I could say I have put in the same amount of effort into my career but it hasn't gone where it should have despite the effort. But that's not my gripe - I don't have a gripe; it's obvious money increases the chance of sucess in anything you do - it's a bit of a boring subject to be honest!
I just want more people karting and for the smaller clubs to be supported better to enable that. I feel there is a trend where the bigger clubs will suck the life out of the smaller ones. Fulbeck is a drivers track where you don't need the best equipment to compete - just seat time and commitment and some talent. You can't normally just turn up with the best equipment and support and win but of course your chances will be higher. PFI is beyond the reach of most mortals hard working or not - either just to race and certainly to compete. But yes there also needs to be different levels to race at. Also I respect Paul F for the commitment and investment he has and continues to make into the place.
The above is not jealousy - just stating fact - that how it is.
Good luck to Adrian and his lads. I really do hope they go far and they also have the talent to get to the top and be sucessfull at F1. And it is outstanding to see Adrian there with his lad getting some bonding time. In contrast to the guy I saw turn up in a Ferrari drop the lad off in the team and spend the rest of the day in the lounge away from his lad reading the FT; he didn't even watch his lad race! I'm probably wrong there also - he'll be a wonderful dad away from the circuit and spend every spare waking moment with his lad!
