Thanks race instructor. I have asked KKC by they didn't think there was a command on the head unit to give the figure, shame as is has the info to give the histogram of revs over a lap. So as you note if I have the lap distance and the lap time, I can work it out via the gearing, and tyre circumference. I suppose the lap distance would have to be a centreline as that is usually the only info. availible. I did have a Mytach but have sold it, I wish I'd took a few lap distance figures to get a reasonably race line lap distance. Either way we are aiming for a particular average rpm to dictate gearing on the day with particular conditions and driver, as they get quicker we alter the gearing to acheive the same average rpm rather than aiming for a max rpm.
