It appears that things were not quite as first appeared reading the statement in the posted link.
Having now gained some more information first hand it looks like its all systems go for 2013 and rather than this being the demise of Whilton Mill it could be a whole new future, given that the owners have also planned a raft of improvements that should both improve the facilities and some additional work on kerbs and run off which can only improve an already excellent venue.
So I wish the new team every success and look forward to my next visit.
