We use the tube nuts; M8 at one end and an allen key drive at the other. Yes they have no locking function but we have never lost one nut or wheel in numerous races. We got fed up of troublesome K nuts and the fact that they chew up the studs, eventually altering the thread shape, rendering the locking function on a new K nut on an old thread not as effective without replacing the studs. Winding the tube nuts on and off during quick wheel changes works well. The tube nuts fit in the counterbored recesses on any wheel.
