So how long is this going to take to sort out, the msa dicked around for months with the new motor, and now we have to wait to see what regs we are running to in 3 or 4 months time?

So when do the builders work there magic?

How long does all that take ?

Do we end up being at the start of the season or mid season and being told now you have to restrict? How is that going to work?

Can you imagine it?

Every Honda and comer being sent off to get slowed down all at the same time?

Maybe they could impose a gearing restriction, ie you have to run "said" sprocket, that may control the speed and cost!

If out of the box the new motor is 5.5 hp and half a second slower at present, than the comers and Honda

for the current cadets not to be restricted the new motor has to be one second faster than it is now, that's a lot of power to find.

If the new motor is 5.5 a good Honda is 6 and half a second faster, so the new motor will have to be approx 6.5 to make the others half a second slower, that's 20% just cannot see them finding that much

Then the msa look at it and say if they are going to restrict or not

How do they work out the half second / or slower rule for current cadets

What tracks, what conditions what drivers, what set ups???

It has to be the same driver, kart, set up, conditions to make a correct comparison on different tracks

If they do restrict comer or Honda what does that say?

So the brand new purpose built kart motor is slower than a standard club motor, that's progress for you!

And either way, if you buy the new motor or stick with your current motor you have to pay for it???

Joke

Think there will be lots not happy with having to pay to go slower, this will push more to leave karting totally or move up early to mini's etc
