Correct tyre disposal?

What's the correct way to dispose of tyres please?

I'm starting to find it difficult to move around our garage.

Our local tip does have a tyre skip, but when I took one set of cadet tyres there, they were reluctant to let me put them in, which I thought was odd. (As in, why put the facility there if you discourage its use)

It doesn't seem right to just bundle them up and leave them at circuits as I've noticed some do.
