I am trying to understand how the offences listed in the blue book and the penalties handed out by the officials at events align.
If a kart fails scrutineering at the end of a heat, should he be excluded from just the heat or the meeting.
Grease on a Rotax clutch, exclusion from heat or meeting
Restrictor outside the maximum measurement, exclusion from heat or meeting
Tyres treated with tyre softener, exclusion from heat or meeting
Tyres inside the sidepods in a wet race, exclusion from heat or meeting
At which point is it determined to be deliberate cheating or a mistake or a component which can wear eventually going beyond the allowable limit.
Also, if a scrutineer uses his own measuring equipment to measure the component and it fails, should you be excluded from the meeting, or just that heat and allowed to continue racing if you change it for a legal item. Do you have to appeal to have the component measured by an eligibilty scrutineer or should this be done as a matter of course. Maybe the class sponsor should be responsible for this.
What do people think.
