And that would then make one particular “2-stroke” the best karting engine that money can buy after all:
- it “goes and goes and goes…” - it’s super smooth (none of that normal 2/ crudeness) - it sounds amazing at a pleasant pitch - it doesn’t stink

Back to the original question, however: If I had to place a bet on this, I'd also go with BRP introducing DI 2-stroke and thus bypassing 4-stroke (including the otherwise perfect-for-karting rotary) for the relatively short time until fossil fuel-burning combustion engines disappear for good. No other manufacturer (with an interest in karting) has the resources to take a lead on this, and certainly not the money to put into development of dedicated 4-stroke engines. Nor is there any point in saying such 4-stroke engines exist already because the market has not accepted them, except in some niches. Karting awaits your decision, BRP.
