I don't believe there is a set MSA points system but each club/series can set their own. Some award championship points just for the final whilst others award points for heats and the final/ Then you will normally have a drop round system where you can drop the score of your worst x number of heat/final scordes - or where you miss a round. If you are excluded from a heat or final then you usually have to count that zero score. Then you have the points systems for working out grid positions for the final. Some will award zero tothe winner of the heat and then 1, 2 etc to the other finishers whilst another club may sart with say 100 points and then decrease for 2nd, 3rd etc. It could be 100 points for 1st, 90 for 2nd, 80 for 3rd and then drop to 79,78,77 etc. Another variation is to award points for fastest lap in timed qualifying, heats and/or finals. You really need to look at the individual club/series rules to see what system they use.
