'I am not convinced that cost is a major problem in karting'

It is, it's growing and while it's growing numbers are declining. There is an attitude in karting that goes along the lines of - 'motorsport is an expensive sport, if you can't afford it then sorry but that's the way it is' - this attitude stinks, there are plenty of racers (people who have racing in their blood) who would race but can't afford to, FACT. Get rid of the common 'I'm alright Jack attitude' and get real with the costs or should I put it more precisely more effort needs to be put in to reduce the costs.
