Disagree 100% and I think Neal C has hit the nail on the head.

I just can't help feel that karting is going down the route where the drivers are absolved of all blame for accidents and that safety is no longer the responsibility of the driver. First corner accidents are not the fault of cold tyres - just poor driving. This issue should be addressed by tougher actions from the COC.

As Neal C says, this is an important skill and should just be considered part of the sport and a way to differentiate the good drivers from the average.
