Ideally you want one with a modern, machined barrel, direct drive or clutched with Horstman clutch. Do not buy a TAG engine.

Your best plan is to take it to an engine builder, Litchfield, Paul Carr, Brian Cole, GFR or however you prefer, ask them to put it on a dyno and give you their opinion.
