Ian, I have FEA simulation software and 3D CAD in my office at work, so it wouldn't be impossible to measure axle stiffness, but knowing what forces to input may be tricky!
I think you have probably hit the nail on the head with the seat position. I know it's position has arguably the greatest effect on a karts handling. I have the pedals in the rear mounted position. On the BRM there are welded mounting points on the frame about 6" behind the normal ones. However, the seat is still further forward than is ideal. I believe you can buy pedal relocators which may be able to bring the pedal position even further back.He has 12kg of lead on the seat which I have positioned low on the sides and under the front lip. Do you think moving the lead from the front of the seat to the rear may help?
Thanks
