30mm axles are the same material, for S,M,H just different wall thickness - so Young's modulous doesn't even come into it.

Hats off to you for trying to apply logic. I tried this aproach for probably 5-6 years before I realised that not all setup decisions can be made applying logic. Don't get me wrong, it's a great basis for how to start your weekend, but you should always try these things. Ballhatchet's 6 tenths for taking off a seat of seat stays is living proof of that, but I guess Traxtar and QOT may argue that this was total chance.

James, I know you're a good driver lacking the chance to really prove yourself. Maybe over the years you've learnt to drive around problems with kart setup so well, that you don't notice the differences on the stopwatch which is great for you, but the vast majority would disagree with your views. So be careful how you give information out on here.
