Don't you think it is rather sad that having first suggested that taking children out of school is wrong, this organisation then creates a completely false 'advertising' facade complete with name dropping to justify the removal.

Surely, if there is real value in a child being taken out of school, then the parents will be able to justify it to the school in their own words. And if I was the head of a school, would I not be deterred by the production of a formula letter, indicating that the parent has money but no sense of conviction, has become a member of the 'X-factor' generation?

Would it not be better to be truthful? To say, in your own words, that your child is taking part in a kart-racing series and that you think it is important and beneficial to the child's personal development and aspirations, and yours, for them to take part.

That you think their education won't suffer but would appreciate the school setting some work to be completed during the absent period, because schooling is more important than kart racing and the child should not be under any illusions.

And finally, if you really think the child has a chance of rising above the mediocrity of 'the pack' offer to provide the school with as much material as the Kart Stars organisation can provide so that they can demonstrate the width of the sporting achievements of their pupils.
