I totally agree that the perception of an unlevel playing field is detremental to all levels of sport. Walk up and down the pits of any club and the father/son debate on how much the guy in frony is spending is rife. From your experience what is the naked truth?? I dont beleive in the second a lap engine, and the farce that is vega will soon be over. So what difference is equipment going to make? Maybe a tenth or 2 in an engine? Maybe a tenth or 2 in a fresh chassis? Am i anywhere near the mark or are the differences greater? As for bums in seat time, although i accept that there has to be some fiscal freedom to allow you to do so surely all competitors at the high end of sport put in hours and hours of practise and this is one of the things that set them apart from the crowd. Also, can you give me some idea of what the top drivers actually pay for? Do you get chassis supplied, tyres, engines? What is the split of funds between the team and the driver? Cheers for the info Paul
