I have raced Red Lodge backwards in a staff event. The track was far and away duller.
Paddock: Backwards its just a big stop and off you go. Forwards its a great corner.
180: Backwards your entry doesnt really matter as you scrub all the speed off to get the exit right and even if you do mess it up the run to the next corner isn't long so it negates the importance of it.
Senna: Backwards you go in with not much speed so its not nearly as difficult as trying to get paddock right when you are going around the right way.
Occasionally the Topkatz training club runs the circuit backwards, there is always loads of damage to the exits of the corners and mud dragged all over it afterwards.
Cant speak for all circuits but i do agree it most have been designed with one direction in mind and in my opinion at least Red Lodge does not drive anything like as well backwards.
