Yes seats, and seat position make a big difference. A softer seat can have the same effect as a softer axle (i.e. less back end grip). The weight distribution is very important too.
It is difficult to quantify it because we have never purposely tested the wrong seat vs the right seat, but it is certainly something worth considering.
