Carbs are energy sources and of course the body will turn them into fat if they're not burnt. If you don't consume carbs, then you'll loose fat... that goes without saying. However a few things to bear in mind.
o Its best not to shock your body into loosing weight by ceasing carbs completely... the body's clever and it will burn fat more slowly.
o Carbs are the body's main source of fibre. Cut carbs completely and you'll be quite constipated. Its bad enough when people say you're full of shlt, but its worse when you really are !
o You will tire faster when you work out and won't be able to do as much.
o A completely carb free diet is a difficult thing to manage from a practical perspective and if your diet's too hard to do, then you'll lapse off it.
My advice would definitely be to reduce the level of carbs you take on, but not to cut them out completely [c.f. my diet recommendations]. Furthermore, you might like to isolate your carb intake from your protein intake, i.e. don't have carbs and protein at the same meal.
Hope this helps.
