Christ did you forget your meds today? You really shouldn't let your xenophopia color your judgement and if you're going to insult somebody at least have the courtesy to actually read what they say first.

Because if you had bothered you would have seen I take the exact opposite view to what you portray concerning my own and my families safety. It is my responcibilty to ensure that their equipment is a safe as it can be, not some scrutineer who may or may not be completely thorough. Although I have nothing against authority in this context and would be the first to admit that perhaps some people need protecting from themselves as well as protecting their kids.

What I'm argueing against is rules that contridict themselves, but where both sides always favor the commercial side of the sport. Such as the Type A standard being removed, despite the fact it is still legal in World and European level competition until 2013. The blanket imposition of CMR's, which though a good idea for smaller kids is pointlessly arbitary for teenagers. Yet among all this nannying, it is quite possible for somebody to slide down the road on a helmet, repair and paint it and then sell it on to somebody else as mint.

As for your suing argument, get real. I've raced for 3 years in France. Where luckily it's still up to the individual what risks they take. I've barely ever had a scrutineer take more than a brief look at the kart and 9 times out of 10, all that involves is tugging at the engine seal. This means I take my own checks, doubly seriously.
