I used tyre softener for that very reason, to make saturdays practice tyres as good as sundays new ones. The only problem was that it is very frustrating when the brand new tyres are NOWHERE near as good as saturdays softened ones! Try this with softened non-bar coded SL6's against new barcoded ones. If you treat the tyres properly (At least three good coatings on different nights in the week leading up to the weekend you want to use them) You will not believe the difference. I got 7 tenths on the very first lap. MUST be the single biggest gain for cheats to use. If you are just blasting round your local circuit without wanting to race then its fantastic stuff, but once you see the benefits, be warned! It could turn into a licence loser!!
