Few guys out at Nutts Corner for a practice session at the start of the week, so I thought i'd tag along for a bit of fun.

Using a (well) worn set of Mojo initially, my best lap time was 44.4secs. These had done at least 100 laps and been used on 4 race weekends.

Threw on a set of Vegas which I used at Larkhall Super1 in July 09 and lay in my garage since. Just did the two runs and my laptime dropped to 43.8secs. When I used these tyres at Larkhall they were slower than the year old set I used in practice. Not sure how they'd perform to this years tyres, but probably quite similar.

Bought a new set of MOJO @ Ł150. After weeping uncontrollably, stuck the tyres on and on the first run got a 43.8 dropping to 44.0 on the second.

I didn't need any set-up changes between the tyre changes, but there is a noticable difference in the charactoristic of the tyre. The MOJO has a much stiffer sidewall and doesn't suffer the hopping of Vega, especially in the 177 or the heavier driver.

The drop off in performance of the MOJO seems to be 0.5-0.6 from new to worn. Hopefully if it becomes the standard tyre next year the prices will begin to drop.
