Hey Martin, I was quite interested in the KF Clubman concept when it first apeared in Karting mag and was quite dissapointed that after the first round most of the drivers seem to not come back. I am not racing this year due to lack of budget but have been looking at switching to KF club since xmas. A race engine and spare for £600? No brainer really. I've been running 250cc 4-strokes and your talking £3500 for a new engine with some special bits in a class the msa renegate to club racing.
Unfortunatly there is no circuit running clubman down here (surrey/kent/herts), pfi is the closest circuit at a good 3hr drive.
As for the tyres, i was racing 100 libre almost 10 years ago on the dunlop sl4 and found it a good durable tyre if a bit expensive for the grip level you actually get. I have used vega sl6's several times over the years when they were cheap but there just not now and there always seemed to be a cliff edge in performance if they overheated slightly.
I'm not sure if a soft kartline would be much slower than the sl4 and they are half the price. They are certainly a match for the yds and sl1 prokart tyres but feel like they could take the abuse the exra power would give them. 12 hours round teeside during the 24 last year no problem.
