Alan, i agree that cadet parents need to do more but many of them are still buying and fitting the zip nose cones. I bet if anyone challenged them on the grid they would get a very short answer and the last word would probably be "off". Clubs should also have a role in this. the MSA and Zip did say that damaged nose cones could be a problem as indeed could nose con es fitted so that they almost scrape the ground and fail the minimum clearance. But how many drivers are being kicked off the dummy grid? It needs a simple check on clearance for the nose cone and side pods plus an official who is prepared to take a driver/kart off the grid if the nose cone is damaged. This does not have to be left just to the MSA/Zip.
