QOT - if this really was the case then would you also say that axle grades and torsion bars provide no difference to the handling of the chassis?

Because, in principle, it's the same - changing the stiffness of the chassis. To lose grip at the back, you change to a softer axle, yes?

Seat stays change the dynamics of the kart; they can have different effects depending on their positioning.

Imagine a kart without seat stays first. The load from the upper body of the driver is transferred through the seat uprights on the chassis. These are attached to the waist of the chassis. With seat stays, the load is transferred directly through the seat stays onto the rear bearings. This is where the chassis flexes that results in the rear wheel lifting.

I cannot state what effect they have exactly, because Karting makes no logical sense whatsoever!

But what I will say is this - test them. You will certainly be able to feel a difference.

People stating that they know exactly what they do may be phsycobabble, but you stating that you know that they do absolouteley nothing is equally so.

Just a realistic view on things.
